File discovery for supported public links

Document downloader for public URLs

Download supported public documents such as DOC, DOCX, XLS, XLSX, PPT, PPTX, TXT, CSV, RTF and EPUB files.

Local-first when practical. Secure server analysis only when needed.

Ready for a link

Documents appear in many ordinary file formats, not just PDF. This page is for public document links when you need to examine whether a file such as a report, text document or spreadsheet is directly accessible.

One document family, several file types

A downloadable document can be PDF, DOCX, TXT or another supported file type exposed by its publisher. Unlike a PDF-only workflow, this broader page does not assume a specific output format before checking the public resource.

  • A public DOCX template shared by its author
  • An open-access report offered as multiple document formats
  • A simple text specification or public spreadsheet attachment

Find actual files rather than view-only pages

The tool validates the URL and inspects generic responses and supported public links. A browser document viewer may show content without exposing original bytes; URLPull will not manufacture a file or circumvent a restricted document repository.

Different formats have different limits

A document's extension, Content-Type header and actual bytes may disagree. The returned file depends on what the host serves. Password-protected Office or PDF documents remain protected and cannot be decrypted here.

Who benefits from document-link checks

Researchers can validate open supporting files, administrators may verify download links in public knowledge bases, and technical writers can test reference attachments. Check whether a document's license permits reuse.

Confidential information is not a public URL

Never submit private workspace documents or share links containing access tokens. Even if a document is reachable, privacy rights and copyright still apply. Temporary output retention depends on the active delivery path.

Choosing a narrower tool

Use PDF Downloader when the target is known to be a PDF; use Download Files from Website when documents appear as multiple links on an HTML index page; use File Downloader for miscellaneous public files that are not documents.

Questions specific to this tool

Can I download a private shared Office document here?

No. Access must already be legitimately public and compatible with the generic resolver.

Does URLPull convert every document to PDF?

No. This workflow focuses on finding eligible source documents rather than guaranteeing format conversion.

For available source-policy decisions, see Supported Sources. For data-handling rules, read the Privacy Policy.
